Our Inspiration

“Spīra began with the kueh tutu mould, remembered from lunch hours and the habit of still going back for one, even after a full meal.”
What stayed with the studio was the mould itself. The ridged body, the stem at the centre, the way it sat in the hand and held its shape. It belonged to a snack many of us grew up with, but it also carried a form that felt familiar, precise, and lasting.

02Early Prototype of Spira

Spīra came from looking at that form more closely. Not to reproduce it exactly, but to carry something forward from it. The mould was reworked in steel and opened into concentric rings, shifting from steam and flour into an object for incense, ash, and candlelight.
